Manchester City vs Real Madrid: UCL Clash Preview And Prediction

The record for the most goals scored in a single Premier League season was broken by Erling Haaland. The record had stood for three decades despite many top-tier challengers.

The megastar of Manchester City has surpassed Andy Cole’s previous record and is committed to entering the Premier League Hall of Fame as quickly as possible.

Alan Shearer of Blackburn tied Cole’s record-breaking 34 goals scored with Newcastle in 1993–94, but until now, nobody has even come close to matching their total. Cole had a magnificent 34 goals for Newcastle in that season.

Haaland, who has soared to No. 1 with games to spare, is one of only 12 Premier League players to have ever scored 30+ Premier League goals in a single season.

Although Harry Kane is currently the only seriously viable contender after surpassing the prestigious 200-goal mark, Haaland may look beyond the single-season record to the all-time top goalscorers in Premier League history rankings.

Spurs have done everything they can to prevent Kane from surpassing all-time Premier League goal scorers but, well, life finds a way.

Sports Digest created a list of the top scorers in a single Premier League season, as well as the all-time top scorers.

Who might be the Premier League’s all-time leading scorer?

Harry Kane is the only candidate who is even close to breaking Alan Shearer’s illustrious record, so all eyes are on him.

The 29-year-old superstar from Tottenham is 53 goals short of the all-time mark. He has had outstanding goal-scoring form in the 2022–23 campaign.

Given his team’s lack of inspiration, Kane’s 25 goals this season is a strong total. On 208, he has drawn exactly the same as Wayne Rooney.

Kane would have 213 Premier League goals in the bank if he turns 30 in 2022–23; you would have to bet on him to score another 47 goals before turning thirty.

The next-highest scorer in the Premier League right now is Jamie Vardy, who has 134 goals to his credit. Mohamed Salah is right behind him with 127 goals, but both players have already turned 30 and are essentially out of the running.

Romelu Lukaku, who had 121 goals, was the other leading candidate, but his ascent was effectively halted by his transfer to Serie A.

Erling Haaland is still very, very young, but if he stays at Manchester City for the rest of his career, he is unquestionably the next most likely contender to challenge Shearer for the title.
