County Championship is the domestic first-class test competition held in England and Wales. The County Championship over the years has seen many overseas players playing in the competition. Since the year 2000, there have been two divisions in County Cricket. There are 18 teams or counties that participate in County Championship. The current champions are Surrey who won the title in 2022. Here is a look at the points table and stats from the County Championship 2023 season.
In division one, the defending champions Surrey are currently in the first position and have built a healthy lead over the second-placed Warwickshire. While in the second division, Durham has an 18-point lead in the first position from Sussex.

Two teams get promoted from Division 2, while two teams get relegated from Division 1. Durham and Sussex from Division 2 are currently in the top 2 positions. Durham who is currently in the first position has an 18-point lead over Sussex and a 22-point lead over third-placed Leicestershire. In Division 1, the relegation battle will be contested between nearly 5 teams. Northamptonshire looks like they will be relegated to Division 2 as they are currently at the bottom place with just 35 points. Kent is in the 9th place with 43 points however, Kent has played 6 games. Somerset, Lancashire and Middlesex have played 5 games and have 44, 46 and 48 points respectively.
