The former Australian wicket-keeper is the oldest player to score a century in the Indian Premier League. He scored his only century in IPL at the age of 39 years and 184 days in 2011 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gilchrist’s knock of 109 runs off 47 balls helped Kings XI Punjab to a mammoth total of 232 runs.
Sanath Jayasuriya
The Sri Lankan opener scored a century when he was at age of 38 years and 319 days. He scored 114 not out against Chennai Super Kings while chasing a target of just 157 runs. In his match-winning knock, he smashed 9 fours and 11 sixes.
Chris Gayle
The ‘Universe Boss’ has been arguably the greatest batter in the history of the IPL. Chris Gayle scored a century at the age of 38 years 209 days. His hard-hitting knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad playing for Kings XI Punjab of 104 runs included 1 four and 11 sixes. Out of the 193 runs that the Punjab team scored 104 came from the bat of the legendary opener.
Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar is placed 4th spot on the list for the oldest players to score a century in IPL. At the age of 37 years and 356 days the ‘Little Master’ scored his only century in the IPL. His ton came in just 66 balls which included 12 fours and 3 sixes. The MI opener scored a century but still ended on the losing side.
Shane Watson
Shane Watson scored a century for the Chennai Super Kings and became the 5th oldest player to score a century in the IPL. His knock came in 2018 where he scored 117 runs in only 57 balls. His century included 11 fours and 8 sixes.
