KKR’s captain Morgan fined Rs12 lakh for his offence to IPL slow over-rate in yesterday’s match against CSK. KKR lost against CSK only by 18 runs. IPL said ” Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their Indian Premier League 2021 match against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 21. As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL code of conduct relating to a minimum over-rate offences Mr Morgan was fined Rs. 12 lakh”.
The minimum over rate should be 14.1 according to the IPL code of conduct and if any team does not maintain the set over rate, in the first offence the captain of the team has to pay a fine of 12 lakh rupees as a penalty for a slow over-rate. If the team does not maintain the over-rate in another match then the captain has to pay 24 lakh as a penalty fine. Whereas in the third offence of the seasoned captain of the bowling team will be penalized with 30 lakhs and banned from playing in the next match of the league.
before this Rohit Sharma was fined 12 lakh rupees for the slow over-rate in a match against DC and now Eoin Morgan has been fined for a slow over-rate in yesterday’s match against CSK. Morgan who scored 7 runs in 7 balls and hit only 1 four tried hard to make win his team in the last match against CSK but they lost the match by the very narrow difference that is 18 runs and CSK won the match. And now Morgan has been fined 12 lakh rupees as his team did not maintain the over which rate set by IPL. And he becomes the third captain who has been fined for a slow over-rate in IPL 202.
