There have been many complaints that have been made to the organizers of the Olympics, relating to the rules and regulations of the quarantine that have been poured lately and the winter conditions despite Beijing promising it to be safe, splendid, and streamlined. However, some participants claim to be living and training in deplorable conditions, causing them to petition organizers for better living and training conditions.
After the Swedish skier, Frida Karlsson was observed trembling and on the verge of collapsing at the finish of the women’s 7.5km+7.5km skiathlon on Saturday, the Swedish delegation urged for cross-country skiing events to be scheduled earlier in the day to safeguard participants from frigid conditions. There have been constant posts done by the participants of Olympics complaining about the difficult isolation rules and transferring from one facility to another and being unable to hand the pressure of the 14-day quarantine along with the issues related to offering the same kind of food for the last five days in Beijing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
In a press conference on Monday, International Olympic Committee (IOC) sports director Kit McConnell stated that athletes’ isolation conditions were a key concern and that actions were being taken to solve “particular circumstances that are still tough.”
Others have commended China’s relentless attempts to maintain virus-free gaming, such as deep-cleaning of sleep pods between users, regular disinfectant spraying, and the deployment of robots in kitchens and bars for food preparation and delivery.
