Pervis Estupiñán to AC Milan: Rossoneri seal €19m deal for Brighton left-back
AC Milan are on the verge of bolstering their backline with a bit of South American flair, having reportedly reached an agreement to sign Pervis Estupiñán from Brighton for a deal worth up to €19 million.
According to Fabrizio Romano (because, of course), the Rossoneri will cough up €17m upfront, with another €2m in add-ons potentially sweetening the deal for Brighton. Estupiñán, 27, is set to sign a long-term contract with the Italian giants, closing the book on his Premier League chapter after two rollercoaster seasons.
The Ecuadorian international had already hinted at a summer switch back in June, casually mentioning that he wanted to “keep growing”, which, in football speak, translates to: “I’m ready for a new adventure, preferably with a Champions League anthem.”

While Manchester United were sniffing around (because they sniff around every full-back), Milan were the ones who actually got the deal done.
Estupiñán joined Brighton from Villarreal in 2022 for around £15m and made 104 appearances for the Seagulls, netting five goals and contributing to some beautiful build-up play on the left. His debut season was an absolute treat, a mix of lung-busting runs and solid defending but injuries and patchy form meant he couldn’t quite maintain that high level consistently.
Still, Stefano Pioli (or whoever’s pulling the strings tactically now) clearly sees something he likes. Milan have been in the market for a dynamic full-back, and Estupiñán ticks the boxes: fast, experienced, and very comfortable in a high-intensity system.

As for Brighton, they’re already looking ahead, with Belgian left-back Maxim De Cuyper expected to step in and fill the void. Whether he can replicate Estupiñán’s early magic remains to be seen but this is Brighton, and spotting under-the-radar gems is kind of their whole thing.
Estupiñán to Milan, it’s not official just yet, but it’s Fabrizio Romano-ed. Expect the announcement photo with the red and black scarf very, very soon.
