The AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualification tournament is round the corner and the field is set for the show. The 21st edition of the continental tournament is set to take shape with the final eight spots to be determined through the qualifiers that will take place from 23 June to 5 July, 2025.
The qualifiers will decide eight of the twelve participating teams in the final tournament to be held in Australia. Four teams have also qualified for the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026. They are as follows:
- Australia (Hosts)
- China (champions)
- South Korea (runner-up)
- Japan (third-place)
The official draw for the qualifiers took place on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with 38 teams being divided into eight groups.

Road to Women’s AFC Asian Cup 2026
Only the group winners will advance to the final tournament that will be held in Australia next year from March 1 to 26, 2026 with Sydney, Perth and Gold Coast as the venues.
The Philippine women’s national football team has been drawn into Group G of the 2026 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers, set for late June.
Thailand will host the Group B fixtures in a centralized single round-robin format, which also has Mongolia, Timor Leste and Iraq in the group.
A total of 12 teams will feature in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 after it was expanded to eight teams ahead of the 2022 edition of the tournament in India.

The top six teams at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 will also qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027.
China are the most successful team in the history of the competition having won it a record nine times.
