AFC WC Qualifiers: Japan thrashed Mongolia by 14-0

The 27th ranked FIFA team Japan scored 14 goals against the 190th placed Mongolian team. The Japanese players totally dominated the game, however the scoreline says it more clearly.

Yuyo  Osako scored a hat-trick whereas Junya Ito, Kyogo Furuhashi, Sho Inagaki scored two goals each. The Liverpool star Takumi Minamino along with Daichi Kamada, Hidemasa Morita and Takuma Asano scored one goal each. Tuyaa the left back of the Mongolian team contributed an own goal in the 14-0 victory to Japan.

Japan’s biggest win in their football history is 15-0 defeating Philippines in 1967. Whereas talking about their worst defeat also came against Philippines 2-15 in 1917.  Mongolia’s biggest defeat came against Uzbekistan which was also 15-0 in 1998.

Japan scored five goals in the first half and added nine more in the second half. In the AFC WC qualifiers Japan is sitting on top in group F. Japan has scored 27 goals in 5 matches of WC qualifiers and are yet to concede a goal in the tournament.
