At the heart of PKL’s success are the players who consistently rise above the rest- the Most Valuable Players (MVPs).
The MVP award is given to the player who consistently contributes the most to his team’s success – whether through raiding, tackling, or all-round impact throughout the season.
The first-ever PKL MVP was Anup Kumar from U Mumba in 2014, for his brilliant all-round leadership and consistent raiding.
Pardeep Narwal and Naveen Kumar have both won the MVP award twice each, making them the joint-most successful players in PKL history.
Mohammadreza Shadloui from Iran became the first foreign player to win the MVP title in PKL Season 11 (2024) for Haryana Steelers.
Here are the all-time winners of MVP award in PKL history:
PKL Season 1 (2014): Anup Kumar – U Mumba
In the inaugural season, Anup Kumar led his team from the front securing 155 raid points in 16 matches.
Although U Mumba lost to final against Jaipur Pink Panthers, Kumar’s leadership and performance earned him the MVP award. He led U Mumba to the title the following year.
PKL Season 2 (2015): Manjeet Chhillar – Bengaluru Bulls
In the second edition, Manjeet Chhillar emerged as the ultimate all-rounder. He led Bengaluru Bulls to the final and contributed both in attack and defence- scoring 67 raid points and 40 tackle points. His fierce defensive presence and attacking brilliance won him the MVP award.
PKL Season 3 (2016): Rohit Kumar – Patna Pirates
Rohit Kumar made a memorable debut for Patna Pirates in Season 3 where he amassed 100 raid points in just 12 matches. His stellar performance helped the Pirates lift their maiden PKL title, earning him the MVP crown.
PKL Season 4 (2016): Pardeep Narwal – Patna Pirates
Pardeep Narwal dominated Season 4 notching up 131 raid points, guiding Patna Pirates to back-to-back championships.
In the final against Jaipur Pink Panthers, his 16-point performance sealed the win and his first MVP award.
Season 5 (2017): Pardeep Narwal – Patna Pirates
Pardeep Narwal scripted history by becoming the first player to win consecutive MVP awards. He scored 369 total points, 18 super raids, and 19 super 10s.
He also made an iconic 8-point raid against Haryana Steelers.
Season 6 (2018): Pawan Kumar Sehrawat – Bengaluru Bulls
Pawan Kumar Sehrawat powered the Bengaluru Bulls to their first PKL title in Season 6. He ended the season as the top scorer with 271 raid points in 24 matches, including 11 super raids- earning him the MVP honour.
Season 7 (2019): Naveen Kumar – Dabang Delhi KC
Naveen Kumar amassed 303 points and guided Delhi to their maiden final appearance. Though Delhi lost to Bengal Warriors, Naveen’s record-breaking 22 Super 10s and 65% raid strike rate made him the season’s MVP.
Season 8 (2021): Naveen Kumar – Dabang Delhi KC
Naveen Kumar led Dabang Delhi to their first-ever PKL title, collecting 210 points, 12 Super 10s, and an astonishing 85% not-out rate. His consistency earned him back-to-back MVP honours.
Season 9 (2022): Arjun Deshwal – Jaipur Pink Panthers
Arjun Deshwal was the hero of Season 9, guiding Jaipur Pink Panthers to title glory. Arjun scored 296 raid points, 17 Super 10s, and maintained a 65% raid strike rate. His attacking approach made him a deserving MVP and one of the top raiders of modern PKL.
Season 10 (2023): Aslam Inamdar – Puneri Paltan
All-rounder and captain Aslam Inamdar was the driving force behind Puneri Paltan’s maiden PKL title. With strong showings both in attack and defence, he scored 142 raid points and 26 tackle points in 23 matches.
His leadership and brilliant form earned him the MVP title for Season 10.
Season 11 (2024): Mohammadreza Shadloui – Haryana Steelers
Iranian powerhouse Mohammadreza Shadloui became the first foreign player to win the PKL MVP award. He played a significant role in Haryana Steelers’ title win, scoring 139 total points (82 tackle + 57 raid).
Season 12 (2025): Fazel Atrachali – Dabang Delhi K.C.
Fazel Atrachali gave a stellar performance in Season12, earning the prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. His captaincy, consistency, and tactical intelligence guided Dabang Delhi to their second title win.
