Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ended their two-match losing streak with a thrilling 2-wicket win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Raipur, a result that also knocked MI out of IPL 2026 Play-offs qualification race. However, amidst all the positives, RCB suffered a major setback as head coach Andy Flower was fined 15 percent of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct after getting into an argument with the fourth umpire.

“Andy Flower, Head Coach, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, has been fined 15% of his applicable match fee for breaching Level 1 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials,” the IPL said in a statement.

“Andy was found to have breached Article 2.3 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which relates to ‘use of an audible obscenity during a match.’ The incident occurred in the 17.2 over when Andy spoke aggressively with the fourth umpire.

“Andy admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction imposed by Match Referee Amit Sharma.”

Rasikh Salam snatched two runs in final ball of the innings

Coming to the match, it turned out to be a last over thriller as the result was decided in the final ball of the innings. Rasikh Salam picked up two runs off the last delivery of Raj Bawa’s over to help Royal Challengers Bengaluru climb to the top of the points table and move within touching distance of Play-offs qualification.

Krunal Pandya powered RCB to 2-wicket win over MI

Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mumbai Indians had a shaky start, but Naman Dhir top-scored with 47 to help MI post 166/7 in their 20 overs. RCB also endured a poor start to the chase as Virat Kohli was dismissed for a duck, while Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, and Tim David failed to make an impact.

However, Krunal Pandya took the charge and played a match winning knock of 73 off 46 balls, which included four boundaries and five sixes. Multiple wides, no-ball and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s six set up Rasikh’s decisive finish, handing MI their eighth defeat in 11 matches.
