Andy McBrine: Biography, Records, Age, Height, Achievements, Family and Career Statistics

Cricket player Andrew Robert McBrine was born in Ireland on April 30, 1993. He bats left-handed and bowls off spin with his right arm. Andy McBrine, a second-generation cricketer whose uncle James McBrine and Father Alexander “Junior” McBrine also represented Ireland, made the U-10 team in 2012 as a batting all-arounder, but it was his off spin that helped him make the senior squad in 2014. In his debut match against a Test-playing team, he displayed great calmness by taking 2 for 26 from four overs in Ireland’s victory over Zimbabwe in the 2014 World T20. His subsequent performance, though, was less fortunate; in a shocking loss to the Netherlands, his one over went for 24 runs, including four sixes.

McBrine was selected as the front-line spinner in the Ireland squad in May 2018 for Ireland’s first Test against Pakistan, but he didn’t play in a Test match until the following year in Dehradun against Afghanistan. McBrine recorded his first five-for of his professional career in an ODI against Afghanistan in 2021, albeit in a losing effort. On a national level, McBrine has led Northwest to victory in the Interprovincial competition and been an important member of Ireland’s white-ball Intercontinental Cup teams.
