“Gave It Everything I Had” – Kohli Reflects on His Journey

Kohli, who has been part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru since the very first IPL season in 2008, finally got to lift the long-awaited IPL trophy – this time under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar.

After the historic win, Virat Kohli dedicated the victory to the fans and looked back on his long journey with the team. He said he has given everything to RCB over the years – from his younger days to his prime.

“This win is as much for the fans as it is for the team. I’ve given this team my youth, prime and experience. Tried to win it every season, gave it everything I can. Never thought this day would come, I was overcome with emotion after we won,” Kohli said during the post-match interview with Star Sports.

Kohli also paid tribute to his close friend and RCB legend AB de Villiers, who retired a few years ago but still holds a special place in the team’s legacy.

“What ABD has done for the franchise is tremendous, told him ‘this is as much yours as it is ours.’ He’s been the Player of the Match most times in the franchise, despite being retired for four years. He deserves to be on the podium, lifting the cup,” Kohli added.
