The Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025 will kick off on March 4 in Tehran, Iran.

This is the sixth edition of the Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship which is being held for the first time since 2017.

A total of seven teams, including defending champions India, Malaysia, Iraq, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand, and hosts Iran, will be bidding for the prestigious continental title.

Chinese Taipei, impressed with their performance at the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022 , defeating Iran and tying a match with India, will not be a part of the tournament.

Defending champions India are the favourites to win the tournament. The Asian Games 2022 gold medallist won the title on four of six occasions, including the last edition in 2017.

India have released their squad for the Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025. Raider Sonali Shingate, who recently led Indian Railways in a title-winning campaign at the Senior National Women’s Kabaddi Championship, will lead the Indianside, and all-rounder Pushpa Rana will be her deputy.
