The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is set to begin with a blockbuster tournament featuring 33 matches and 12 teams in action. Many new milestones will be set, and many old records will be broken. Let’s find out who the players are who hold the record for the highest partnerships in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup history.
1. Lizelle and Dane van’s – 163*
It was the 2nd match of the group stage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2014, held at Sylhet on 23rd March 2014. Batting first, both the openers Lizelle Lee and Dane van Niekerk made history as Lizelle scored an unbeaten 67*(55) at a strike rate of 121.81, including 8 fours and 1 six, whereas Dane van Niekerk made 90 not out in 66 deliveries with a strike rate of 136.36, including 13 fours and 1 six, and finished the SA-W innings at a fighting total of 163 without any loss of wicket.
In the second innings, the PAK-W batting line-up was completely dismantled by the SA-W bowling unit as Marizanne Kapp took 3 wickets in 4 overs, conceding only 16 runs, helping SA-W to clinch a 44-run win, and Dane van Niekerk’s 90* innings made her the Player of the Match.
2. Lee and Luss – 131
On 28th February 2020, in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, it was the 11th match of Group B held at Canberra. The match holds great significance as SA-W, batting first, had an 131-run partnership between opener Lizelle Lee and Sune Luus, who came in at No. 3 to bat. Lizelle Lee scored a valuable 101 runs in 60 balls, with a strike rate of 168.33, including 3 sixes and 16 fours.
Sune Luus made an important 61 runs in 41 balls. Later, at 15.6 overs, Lee got out at the score of 144, and Chloe Tryon and Sune took the innings to a great total of 195/3 runs. In the second innings, the SA-W bowling department took charge and made THA-W all out for 82 runs, and won by a huge margin of 113 runs.
3. Nat Sciver and Heather Knight – 169*
Nat Sciver-Brunt and Heather Knight produced an important knock for ENG-W in the 7th match of the group stage, which was played at Canberra on 26th February 2020. Batting first, Amy Jones and Danni Wyatt, both the openers, got out on ducks without giving any contribution. The pressure was now on Nat Sciver, who came in at No. 3, and Heather Knight, the captain, who came in at No. 4.
Both took the pressure positively, and Sciver scored 59 not out in 52 balls with a strike rate of 113.46, while captain Heather Knight, with her ton of 108*(66), set a new level of record as their 169* runs partnership holds huge significance in the history of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
