India Dominates The Asian Weightlifting Championships 2024 With 33 Medals: Full Winners List

Asian Weightlifting Championships 2024: The Indian team wrapped up their campaign at the 2024 Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Doha, Qatar, on Wednesday, winning a total of 33 medals.
The championships had 40 categories, with 20 each for juniors and youths. Medals were given for snatch, clean and jerk, and overall performance in each weightlifting category.
Youth Lifters Shine with 21 Medals, Weightlifting Championships 2024
India’s youth lifters (ages 13 to 17) led the way at the 2024 Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Doha, winning 21 medals, including all seven golds. Junior lifters (ages 15 to 20) contributed 12 more medals.
16-year-old Jyoshna Sabar from Uttar Pradesh shone on the first day, winning three golds and setting a new Asian record with a total lift of 135kg in the women’s 40kg category. Payal and Sanjana both won five medals each, with Payal claiming gold in the youth total and snatch categories, while Sanjana lifted a personal best of 230kg to win five silver medals.

Dhanush Loganathan, a top contender, did not medal in the men’s junior 55kg. Koyel Bar and Sairaj Pardeshi added gold medals, and Nilam Devi won three silvers.
On the final day, Maibam Martina Devi won two silvers and a bronze in the junior women’s +87kg division. Last year, India won 42 medals at the championships, with 15 from juniors and 27 from youth athletes.
