KL Rahul and his wife, Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty, have welcomed a baby girl. They shared the news on Instagram with a sweet post on Monday evening. KL Rahul missed the IPL 2025 match between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, the team he plays for, to be with Athiya for the birth of their child.

On Monday, the couple posted on Instagram to announce the news. They shared a painting of two swans with a message that said, “Blessed with a baby girl.”

The baby was born on Monday, as the picture shows “24-03-2025.” Athiya, the daughter of actor Suniel Shetty, and KL Rahul shared the picture without any caption, adding only a baby emoji with a halo and wings. This is their first child together.
In November last year, Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul announced the exciting news on Instagram. They shared a joint note to update their fans, which said, “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025.” The announcement included pictures of little feet and an evil eye. Athiya, daughter of actor Suniel Shetty, posted the note with a white heart emoji.
KL Rahul met Athiya Shetty in January 2019 through a mutual friend, and they clicked right away. Their relationship grew stronger over the years. After dating for several years, Athiya married KL Rahul in 2023. The wedding was held at Suniel’s farmhouse in Khandala with close family and friends.

KL Rahul enters IPL 2024 with strong momentum after playing a key role in India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 win. Batting at number six, he scored an important 34* off 33 balls in the final against New Zealand. In five matches, he scored 140 runs at an average of 140.00 and a strike rate of 97.90, with a best of 42*.
In IPL, KL is the 12th-highest run-scorer with 4,683 runs in 132 matches, averaging 45.46 and a strike rate of 134.60. He has scored four centuries and 37 fifties, with a highest score of 132*. Despite playing for RCB, PBKS, and LSG, he has yet to win the IPL title.
