AUS vs ZIM: Australia and Zimbabwe are coming into the match on the back of wins in their opening game, respectively
Australia will be bowling first after winning the toss in their second match of the Men’s T20 World Cup to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium against Zimbabwe. The former T20 World Cup champions will be led by Travis Head for thesecond game in a row, with regular captain Mitchell Marsh still nursing the injury he picked up before the opening encounter against Ireland.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, will look to replicate the same performance that they delivered against Oman, which was led by the bowlers, especially the pacers.
AUS vs ZIM: Captains’ Speak
Australia’s stand-in captain, Travis Head, was quick to admit that it is a bit challenging as they have to focus on the game at the same time, and make sure that everyone is in good shape. However, he also said that they are used to it and are in good spirits at the moment.
Head added that they are familiar with the conditions, having played at this venue a few days ago and felt that they did well, but the vital thing would be how they are able to back that up.
Head’s counterpart, Sikandar Raza, was of the opinion that the pitch will get slower as the game progresses and will be at its slowest when the sun comes out, which is something that Zimbabwe can take advantage of, and that is also the reason why the team has picked an extra spinner for the game.
Raza also pointed out that it may be challenging to play against Australia as the two teams don’t get to play against each other a lot. At the same time, Raza also pointed out that the game provides a good opportunity for them to put their best foot forward and see what happens at the end.

AUS vs ZIM: How will the Pitch Behave
The pitch at the R. Premadasa Stadium is expected to assist the spinners, with the bounce being low, meaning that the batters will have to be watchful in the first few overs of the innings in order to get used to the nature of the surface and plan accordingly. As far as the pacers are concerned, they can also extract something from the wicket due to the 11 AM start.
