It was another proud moment for the Badminton Association of India (BAI) after its president Hemanta Biswa Sarma was appointed as a council member of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) during the virtual AGM & Council elections for the term of 2021-25.

Himanta Sarma was recently elected as the Chief Minister of Assam. BAI took to Twitter to congratulate its president on being appointed as the council member at BWF.

This would also increase the Indian badminton base around the world. Earlier, women’s singles player Pusarla Venkata Sindhu was appointed as the ambassador of the BWF’s campaign, ‘I am Badminton’ which led towards clean and honest badminton. This was yet another feat for India in the world of badminton.
