The Bangladesh Premier Competition (BPL) is a major Twenty20 cricket league featuring a total of seven teams. West indies’ significant batsman Chris Gayle currently holds the record for most sixes hit in a T20 inning, with an astonishing figure of 18 in a single inning.  The Caribbean star batsman hit the milestone during the final game of the 2017 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) involving Dhaka Dynamites & Rangpur Riders. Gayle struck 146 runs against 69 balls in the final for his franchise Rangpur Riders, comprising five fours and eighteen sixes.

Rangpur Riders ended their 20 overs in the Bangladesh Premier League with a total of 206/1 when Chris Gayle smashed an unbeaten 146 off 69 balls. Gayle smacked 18 sixes throughout his innings, surpassing his record for most sixes in a T20 inning. In the 2013 IPL, the 38-year-old Jamaican struck 17 sixes during his record-breaking 66-ball 175 not out for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors.

He amassed 11,000 runs in the shortest version of the game and was the very first player to collect 20 centuries in T20s. He additionally became the first player in the Bangladesh Premier League to collect 100 maximums.

Opener Tamim Iqbal batted potentially the greatest innings of the sixth edition, which featured hundreds from Ab de Villiers, Alex Hales, and Evin Lewis, and nearly single-handedly won the championship for Comilla as they edged Dhaka by 17 runs.

Tamim’s flawless batting during an unmatched 61-ball 141, the second-highest individual score in the BPL following Rangpur Riders opener Chris Gayle’s 146 in the preceding edition’s final versus Dhaka, captivated a packed Mirpur crowd.
