FC Barcelona announced on Wednesday that Spain international left back Alejandro Balde has signed a new contract until the end of June 2028.
The club also confirms that the contract has a release clause of one billion euros to assure no other club will be able to buy him, reports Xinhua.
19-year-old Balde joined Barca in 2011 and has progressed through the ranks of the club’s youth system to become the first-choice left back for both club and country.
He made his first-team debut against Bayern Munich two seasons ago and has since made 55 first-team appearances, scoring one goal.
He also has six appearances for the Spain national team and is now the first choice after Jordi Alba announced his international retirement.
