“Bayern must perform in Lewandowski’s absence” says coach Hansi Flick
Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 42 goals across all the season, endured a knee injury while on International duty with Poland a week ago and is believed to be out for rest for at least a month.
Striker Robert Lewandowski’s absence is going to be a major issue for Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich in view of Saturday’s showdown with the second-positioned RB Leipzig, yet the group has the quality to convey, coach Hansi Flick said on Friday.
The Bundesliga’s top scorer suffered a knee ligament injury while on international duty with Poland last week and is expected to be out for four weeks.
Lewandowski has netted 35 goals and is one of the highest Goal scorers across Europe this season .
“These are situations that coaches have to face,” Flick told a virtual news conference. “We all know that Robert is an important player.”
“Now we have to see how we will solve this. We have players who can play that position. It is a challenge for us all and we have to tackle it.” said Flick
