BCCI announce India’s squad for T20I series against England
India and England will play a 3-match T20I series after the 5th rescheduled Test match.
India and England will play the 5th rescheduled Test match at Edgbaston which is starting on Friday, 1st July. Indian team will be playing with some absentees as KL Rahul was ruled out before due to his groin injury and skipper Rohit Sharma ruled out because of COVID-19. Apart from these, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 18-man squad for 3-match T20Is against England which will be played between the teams after this last Test match.
BCCI announced two different squads for 1st T20I, and 2nd & 3rd T20Is. As the players who will be playing this 5th Test match against England will be given some days rest and then will be back with the squad for the 2nd and 3rd T20Is. Some of the players in the squad selected for the first T20I will not be there for the 2nd and 3rd.
India’s squad for 1st T20I: Rohit Sharma (C), Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Hardik Pandya, Venkatesh Iyer, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik.
