BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, unveiled the prestigious trophy for the upcoming 3rd National Physical Disability T20 Cricket Championship 2023 at the Goa International Cricket Stadium. The event witnessed the presence of prominent cricket personalities, including BCCI President Roger Binny, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla, and IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal. Representing the Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI), Secretary Ravikant Chauhan and Joint Secretary Squadron Leader Abhay Pratap Singh (Retired) were also in attendance.
Ravikant Chauhan expressed heartfelt gratitude to Jay Shah for his invaluable support in providing a robust platform for thousands of disabled cricket players across the nation. He emphasized that the BCCI not only endorses the event but also stands as a merchandise partner, generously providing two complete sets of jerseys, cricket kits, and cricket balls to all participating players.
The 3rd National Physical Disability T20 Cricket Championship 2023 is a collaborative initiative between the Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI) and Narayan Seva Sansthan, an organization committed to assisting and rehabilitating disabled individuals throughout the country for many decades.
This championship promises to be a remarkable gathering, featuring the participation of 24 state-level disabled cricket teams, bringing together 384 talented disabled cricketers. Over the course of ten action-packed days, a total of 63 matches will be played, comprising 60 league matches, 2 semi-finals, and a grand final. These matches will be hosted across four different cricket grounds in the enchanting city of Udaipur.
Adding prestige to the championship, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has been honored with the role of brand ambassador for the tournament, further promoting the spirit of inclusivity and excellence in cricket.
