Pro Tour Elite16 2025 in Saquarema is set to witness the show of some of the best beach volleyball players. In the beautiful city of Brazil, the tournament will be held from 9-13 April on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro
Pro Tour Elite16 2025 Saquarema: Format
The main draw consists of 16 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams, who are split into four pools of four teams. They will play each other once in best-of-three sets.
The group winners directly qualify for the quarter-finals, while the second and third teams enter the round of 12 to earn their chance to book a spot to the final eight.
The competition will then progress to straight knockout until the final with a bronze medal match happening to determine the podium standings.
Pro Tour Elite16 2025 Saquarema: Stars To Watch
The Swedes will enter the tournament as the world number one side. Last month’s Quintana Roo champions Noslen Diaz and Jorge Luis Alayo Moliner of Cuba will head to Brazil with renewed confidence after breaking into the top 10.
In the women’s competition, Thamela and Victoria, who are ranked 16th in the world are the home favourites. The Bazil duo are chasing a second victory on home sand in seven months.
The other women’s team in contention are American pairs of Terese Cannon and Megan Kraft & Olympians Kristen Nuss and Taryn Brasher (nee Kloth), who both achieved a podium finish last week in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
The Canadian team will have Paris 2024 silver medallists Melissa Humana–Paredes and Brandie Wilkerson as they gear up to appear for the first time this season.
