For the first time in history, Australia plays host to this prestigious global event- and all signs point to a spectacular debut.

Beach Volleyball World Championships 2025 opens with a blockbuster lineup, headlined by the Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medallists, Anders Mol and Christian Sørum of Norway. The dominant duo will face Uruguay’s Hans Hannibal and Nicolás Llambías Carvalho in one of the event’s opening matches, setting the tone for a high-stakes competition.

Meanwhile, Sweden’s golden pair from Paris 2024, David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig, are set for a thrilling clash against the home favourites, Paul Burnett and Thomas Hodges, in what promises to be a raucous, crowd-pumping atmosphere on Centre Court.

On the women’s side, Brazil’s Olympic gold medallists Ana Patricia Silva Ramos and Eduarda ‘Duda’ Santos Lisboa will kick off their campaign against Australia’s own Tara Phillips and Kayla Mears- a dream debut for the Aussie pair and a true test of nerves and skill.

Event ambassador and Olympic legend Natalie Cook, who won gold at Sydney 2000 and competed at five Olympic Games, officially unveiled the match schedule of Beach Volleyball World Championships 2025.

, brimming with pride that her home country is hosting the sport’s premier event.

“Adelaide is ready to shine on the global stage,” Cook said. “From the first serve to championship point, fans will experience world-class competition in a uniquely Australian setting. There’s nothing like the energy of a home crowd, and I can’t wait to see our athletes thrive in it.”

Cook, a Queenslander, also expressed excitement at the build-up to Brisbane 2032, with the World Championships serving as a major milestone in Australia’s road to Olympic glory.
