Ben Duckett played one of his best innings ever when England chased down 371 runs to beat India in the first Test at Leeds. His powerful 149 off just 170 balls helped England win the match with five wickets in hand. Duckett’s innings had 21 fours and one six, and it came in the final innings a time when pressure is at its peak.
Earlier in the same match, he also scored a useful 62 in the first innings. Together, his two knocks made a big difference and helped England finish the game in just 82 overs.
Many fans praised him, and former captain Michael Vaughan even said that Duckett might be the best batter across all formats in world cricket today. While other players may be better in one format, Vaughan argued that nobody is as good as Duckett in all three.

In One Day Internationals (ODIs), he has scored 476 runs in nine games at an average of 52.88 with a strike rate of 115.25. Even though he’s played fewer T20Is this year, his strike rate of 168.25 in the shortest format proves how dangerous he is at the top.
Ben is currently in the top five run-scorers in both Tests and ODIs this year a rare achievement. The next closest batter in total runs across all formats is George Munsey from Scotland with 734.
