Twelve Indian boxers, including eight women, advanced to the gold-medal bouts on the final day of the BOXAM Elite International 2026 after a string of confident semifinal performances on Friday.
Sachin (60kg) spearheaded the men’s challenge with another assured victory, comfortably outboxing England’s Jack Dryden to continue his impressive run. In the women’s draw, Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain (75kg) booked her place in the final with a dominant unanimous decision win over Wales’ Rosie Eccles.
India will field the largest contingent in Saturday’s finals with 12 boxers, ahead of Kazakhstan (11), Ukraine (5) and hosts Spain (4). The team is already guaranteed at least one gold medal, with the Elite Women’s 54kg final set to be an all-Indian contest between Preeti and Poonam.
Indian women continued to underline their strength across categories as Manju Rani (48kg), Nitu (51kg), Priya (60kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70kg) and Naina (80kg) all registered commanding semifinal victories to progress to the title bouts.
In the men’s competition, Deepak (70kg), Akash (75kg) and Ankush (80kg) also sealed places in the finals. Deepak delivered one of the standout performances of the session, forcing a first-round RSC against Kazakhstan’s World Boxing Cup Finals silver medallist Nurbek Mursal. Akash and Ankush both overcame stiff challenges from Kazakh opponents to keep India’s gold hopes alive.
India also secured multiple bronze medals following semifinal exits. In the women’s events, Pranjal Yadav (65kg), Kajal (65kg), Sanamacha Chanu (75kg) and Mankirat Kaur (80+kg) finished on the podium, while Jadumani Singh (55kg), Mohammed Hussam Uddin (60kg) and Hitesh Gulia (70kg) claimed bronze in the men’s draw.
