BWF World Ranking: The BWF Indonesia Open concluded this weekend in which Denmark’s Anders Antonsen took the men’s single’s title while An Se-young of South Korea won the women’s singles crown.
The win has lifted Antonsen to the second position. China’s Shi Yuqi, who was the world number one till two weeks ago have dropped down to third.
Kunlavut Vitidsarn of Thailand, who won the Singapore Open title, maintains his lead as the No. 1 in men’s rankings for the second straight week.
In the women’s ranking, Olympic champion An Seyoung remained top of the charts, the Republic of Korea shuttler being her nation’s first female singles No.1 since Atlanta 1996 Olympic champion Bang Soohyun.
The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the World Championships and Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking.
