The Indonesia Open is an annual badminton tournament organized by the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) since 1982. It became part of the BWF Super Series tournament in 2007 and got the Super Series Premier status in 2011. Following the changes to BWF World Tour in 2018, it became one of only four tournaments to be granted Super 1000 level.
Host Indonesia are the most successful nation at Indonesia Open with 84.5 titles (22 men’s singles, 10 women’s singles, 23.5 men’s doubles, 13 women’s doubles and 16 mixed doubles).

Ardy Wiranata (6)
In men’s singles, home grown Ardy Wiranata has won the most number of times. His first victory came in 1990 and achieve a hat-trick by winning the following two editions- 1991 and 1992. He then won back-to-back trophies in 1994 and 1995. His last crown came in 1997. A total of six titles makes his the most successful player in the history of the tournament.
Taufik Hidayat (5)
Another Indonesian, Taufik Hidayat is one of the three players who won the Indonesia titles on five occasions. He was a dominant force between 1999- 2004, missing the trophy only in 2001. He won the tournament in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004.
Susi Susanti (5)
Susanti won five trophies in women’s singles at Indonesia Open. Her first triumph came in 1989, and went on to win the editions in 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997. She achieved a hat-trick with win in 1995, 1996, 1997.
Tri Kusharjanto / Minarti Timur (5)
In mixed doubles, the Tri Kusharjanto / Minarti Timur won the trophies a total number of five times. They won all their titles consecutively-1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999. This just explains their dominance they had on the court in that phase.
