ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has been an up-and-down campaign for India Women in the 10th edition of the tournament. After three matches, IND-W find themselves at number two on the Group A points table, having registered two wins and one loss, with a net run rate of +2.511 and four points. Their qualification chances are still dicey, as South Africa Women stand at number three with two wins, one loss, and four points, with a net run rate of -0.546.

The same situation is with the Bangladesh Women, who are placed at number four with a net run rate of -0.641. The upcoming matches for India Women are very crucial, as they look to seal their spot in the playoffs and continue their road to becoming champions of the 2026 season in England.

India Women’s Performance at the Women’s T20 World Cup

Before taking a look at India Women’s performance at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, let’s take a look at their full-strength squad with which they are playing:

India Women’s Squad: Smriti Mandhana (VC), Yastika Bhatia, Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh, Harli Deol, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Deepti Sharma, Shreyanka Patil, Kranti Goud, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh, Nallapureddy Charani, Radha Yadav, Nandini Sharma.

The first match of the season for India Women was played against Pakistan Women on 14th June 2026, in the 6th group stage match of the tournament held at Edgbaston, Birmingham, and defending the total of 171, India won that match by a margin of 64 runs and registered their first victory in the tournament.

Coming to the second match of the India Women, which they played on 17th June 2026, the match was played at Leeds. It was the 10th group stage match of the season, and India, defending a target of 210 runs against the Netherlands Women, won that match by a margin of 95 runs and got their second back-to-back win.

India Women then played a match at Stretford against South Africa Women. The 18th contest of the tournament was played on 21st June 2026, and India Women lost that match by six wickets, as India Women were defending a target of 159, but the ferocious batting of SA-W in that match took the match in their favour.

Scenario For India Women’s Qualifications and Upcoming Matches

The upcoming matches of India Women in the rest of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 are against Bangladesh Women, which will be played on 25th June 2026. As it will be the 23rd match of the group stage, it is all set to be played at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, and the match will be very crucial for India Women to win, and equally important for Bangladesh Women to score two more points and with a huge margin victory, so it is going to be a high-voltage encounter between the teams. If India loses the next match against Bangladesh Women, then they will be eliminated from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

On 28th June 2026, India Women will face the table-toppers Australia Women, who are playing in a dominating form throughout the tournament with an unbeaten status, and India Women will face them at the historic venue Lord’s. It will be a pivotal contest for India Women to secure a win and lock their chances of making the playoffs.
