Carlos Alcaraz, the French Open champion, has set goals for more grass-court success following his first clay-court championship at Roland Garros.
With a five-set victory over Alexander Zverev in Paris on Sunday, the 21-year-old became the youngest man to win a major on all three surfaces (grass, hard courts, and clay).
However, Alcaraz’s emphasis has switched to more grass-court successes, with the Spaniard wanting to repeat his London double from last year when he triumphed at Queen’s Club before winning Wimbledon for the first time.
Carlos Alcaraz will join Rafael Nadal at the Paris Olympics 2024
Carlos Alcaraz has had a wonderful week, winning the French Open and then learning that he would join 14-time Roland Garros champion Rafael Nadal at next month’s Olympics in Paris.
“I had a few days off and travelled to Ibiza with a group of friends.” “I had fun and enjoyed my time,” Alcaraz told reporters at Queen’s on Sunday.
“Obviously, Roland Garros was an incredible two weeks for me, and winning the title was a dream come true, but right now, my focus must be on the grass.
“I want to be ready as quickly as possible to play terrific tennis at Queen’s and, of course, for Wimbledon.
Title on all three surfaces (grass, hard courts, and clay).
“I’m currently focused on the grass season and the two tournaments. After that, I want to be ready to play my best tennis on clay again and compete at the Olympics.”

When asked about the idea of teaming up with Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros in the Olympics, Alcaraz replied, “I’m really very excited to play doubles in the Olympics with an icon like Rafa.
“I didn’t expect to play doubles at the Olympics with Rafa. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience for me, and I’m overjoyed. Let’s see how it goes, but it’s going to be a good time.

“Honestly, I believe he will show me how to deal with anything. I’m the young man who needs to mature as a player and as a person.”
“Of course, it will be my first Olympic Games. “Everything is new to me, so I hope to learn a lot from him,” he said.
Carlos Alcaraz’s Queen’s Club campaign begins on Tuesday against Francisco Cerundolo of Argentina.
