After the completion of the league stage, eight teams secured direct qualification to the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League 2025. Now the focus on the next phase: the knockout playoffs.
The draw for this playoff stage was held on Friday and teams who will be pitted against each other have been confirmed. Sixteen teams went into the draw with a hope of securing their berth for the Round of 16. The teams that finished from ninth to 24th in the standings enter the draw for this eliminator round, in which the 16 sides will be paired off in two-legged ties to determine the final eight in the Round of 16.
The teams contesting the play-offs are: Atalanta, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Milan, PSV, Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Monaco, Brest, Feyenoord, Juventus, Celtic, Manchester City, Sporting CP, and Club Brugge.
Eight teams have automatically qualified to the Round of 16 by finishing in the top eight positions of the group stage table.
The first legs of the playoffs will be staged over February 11-12, 2025. The second legs will be held a week later from February 18-19.
