Chelsea are in talks to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan
The France international’s contract at the San Siro expires next summer and he is yet to commit to an extension, which has alerted Chelsea to the possibility of securing a deal.
There is a good chance a move to west London happens.
The 29-year-old’s potential arrival at Stamford Bridge means yet another shake-up to the goalkeeper department.
The Blues have already have five goalkeepers on their books – Robert Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic, Mike Penders and Kepa Arrizabalaga, but Maignan’s potential arrival would see him challenge for the No 1 jersey with the Blues.
Maignan has been with AC Milan since 2021 after moving from Lille.
He won Ligue 1 with Lille in 2021 before helping Milan to the Serie A title in 2022 and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2024.

Maignan has made 30 appearances for France and was named in the Euro 2024 team of the tournament.
Chelsea ended their campaign on a high after securing Champions League qualification for next season, while also winning this year’s Europa Conference League.

But determined to close the gap on their Premier League rivals, the Blues have quickly turned their attentions to the transfer market in what is set to be another busy summer of comings and goings in west London.

The Blues kicked off their recruitment drive by completing a deal for Sporting midfielder Dario Essugo and Liam Delap is expected to follow the youngster through the doors at Stamford Bridge over the coming days.

Maresca put his faith in Sanchez as Chelsea’s number one at the start of last season, with Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga sent out on loan to Strasbourg and Bournemouth respectively.
But a string of costly blunders prompted Maresca to drop Sanchez in favour of Filip Jorgensen in mid-February, only for the latter to relinquish the gloves with some less-than-convincing performances of his own.
