They could qualify for the Champions league whilst being 16th in the Premier league

If they win the Europa league final against Tottenham, they could qualify for the Champions league whilst being 16th in the Premier league table.

This was Manchester United’s 18th league defeat of the season, their most in a season since losing 20 in 1973-74 in the last season in which they were relegated. The season has been a failure for the management and the new manager but if they can win the Europa league, it will be a big positive for United to take back.

Maguire finish but the goal was disallowed for offside

United started brightly and thought they had gone in front with a fine Maguire finish but the goal was disallowed for offside following a VAR review.

Chelsea were awarded a penalty in the second half after George was adjudged to have been fouled by Onana in the area, but the decision was quickly rescinded via VAR after replays showed barely any contact. The home side struggled to find a breakthrough until Cucurella popped up.
