The Big Bash League is without a doubt the IPL’s largest rival to date in terms of popularity. Some of the top cricketers in the world compete in the Australian Twenty20 competition. The Big Bash League, its most recent incarnation, debuted in 2011. The Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers, and Sydney Thunder are the eight teams competing. The Perth Scorchers have had the greatest success in the competition thus far. They took home three championships.

With the Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers facing off in the championship game, the inaugural season of the competition was thrilling. The Perth Scorchers scored 156 runs with the loss of only five wickets. Mitchell Marsh scored an incredible 77 points. The Sydney Sixers, who batted second, completed the goal with one over left in the game and won the inaugural season of the competition. Moises Henriques was credited with the game’s best performance, scoring 77 brilliant runs off just 41 balls. David Hussey won the competition as the best player.

Big Bash League Winner: Brisbane Heat Season 2 (2012–13)
This time, the Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers squared off in the tournament’s championship game. The Perth Scorchers were given a goal of 168 by the Brisbane Heat, who batted first. Joe Burns used 43 of 27 balls to destroy the house. They outscored the Perth Scorchers by 34 runs to win. With three wickets, Kemar Roach led the team in wicket-taking, but Nathon Lyon was named player of the game for his economical bowling. Aaron Finch was this tournament’s player of the year.

With a quick 63, Shaun Marsh had the top score. Only 152 runs could be scored by the Hobart Hurricanes in their allotted overs. Ben Dunk was voted the man of the tournament, and Brad Hogg was justifiably named the man of the match after picking up three wickets off just 17 runs.

Big Bash League Winner: Perth Scorchers Season 4 (2014-15)
For the second time, the Perth Scorchers won the league. The Sydney Sixers was the opponent this time. The first team to bat, the Sydney Sixers, only managed a meager 147 runs while losing five wickets. The Perth Scorchers responded by successfully chasing the goal with the game’s final ball. Shaun Marsh’s 77-run inning earned him the title of “player of the match.” The competition’s player of the year award was given to Jacques Kallis.

This time, the Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars faced off in the championship. Melbourne achieved a respectable 176 runs while batting first, losing nine wickets in the process. With three balls remaining, the Sydney Thunder finished the game’s pursuit. Usman Khawaja’s courageous 70-run inning earned him the title of player of the game. Chris Lynn was named the tournament’s player of the fifth season.

Big Bash League Winner: Perth Scorchers Season 6 (2016–17)
This year, the Perth Scorchers claimed their third championship. They bowled first and held the Sydney Sixers to a meagre 141 for 9. With four overs left, they easily surpassed the goal. Michael Klinger’s score of 71 won the game. Jhye Richardson has been named the game’s man of the match for his three wickets in the first innings. Chris Lynn won the championship’s man of the match award for the second time in a row.

Big Bash League Winner: Adelaide Strikers, Season 7 (2017-18)
After winning the toss on the last day, Adelaide scored 202 runs while losing two wickets. Jake Weatherald achieved an incredible 115 points on just 70 balls. In their pursuit, the Hurricanes can muster only 177. Without a doubt, Jake Weatherald was the player of the match, while D’Arcy Short, for his outstanding batting performance, was named player of the tournament.

Big Bash League Winner: Melbourne Renegades Season 8 (2018-19)
The Melbourne Renegades particularly won the championship, outscoring their neighbourhood rivals, the Melbourne Stars, by only 13 runs. The Melbourne Stars only needed 53 from 42 balls to win, but a pitiful collapse of seven wickets for 19 runs, brought on by the powerful bowling of the Renegades, left the Stars needing 28 from the last over.

Big Bash League Winner: Sydney Sixers Season 9 (2019-20)
The tournament’s eighth season is now underway. Therefore, it’s quite difficult to predict who will win the season. The eight-team tournament’s championship game will take place on February 8th, 2020. The Melbourne Renegades are now in the lead, but there is still a long way to go in the competition, so things might change quickly. Although the stars were concerned about the rain, their internal issues were the main issue. As the Sixers raise the championship, it is once again pouring down there. Winners in 2012 and once more in 2020, the stars continue to wait for victory.

After 10 seasons of the BBL, the winning Sydney Sixers and the runner-up Perth Scorchers are tied with three victories each. In the domestic Big Bash T20 league final, the Sydney Sixers scored a respectable 188/6 under James Vince’s leadership. The English cricketer scored 90 runs off 60 balls in a brilliant effort that featured ten boundaries and three maximums. Their bowlers did a good job of holding the Scorchers to 161/9 to secure a 27-run victory.

Who will take home the Big Bash League trophy? Season 11 (2021-2022)
It’s currently the 10th season, and all the clubs are vying for the top slot, making it extremely difficult to determine who will win the BBL. At the top is the previous season’s champion, the Sydney Sixers. The championship will occur on February 6, 2021. After the final, we will update the winner’s name.
