Cristiano Ronaldo Makes History With 24 Consecutive Calendar Years Of Scoring

Cristiano Ronaldo took just 42 minutes to score a goal against Al-Akhdoud, helping Al-Nassr win 3-1 in the Saudi Pro League. Al-Akhdoud scored the first goal of the match early on, but it wasn’t enough to earn them any points against Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo scored his 917th career goal and his first of the new year by converting a penalty. This goal also set a new record for Ronaldo, as he became the only player in history to score in 24 consecutive calendar years. Since netting his first professional goal in 2002, the Portuguese legend has scored every year without fail.

Cristiano Ronaldo wrapped up 2024 with 43 goals to his name. In 2023, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was the top scorer of the calendar year, having scored 54 goals.
After Al-Nassr’s victory over Al-Akhdoud, Ronaldo shared a post on social media, posting a couple of pictures from the match. “Best way to start the year,” the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star wrote in his post.

Cristiano Ronaldo recently received the Best Middle Eastern Player and Top Goalscorer of All Time awards at the Globe Soccer Awards. He also shared his future plans in a recent interview. “I’m not a coach. I’m never going to be a coach or president of the club. No. Maybe the owner of the club,” Ronaldo said at the start of the ceremony, according to the Daily Mail.
When asked if he was interested in becoming a “club owner,” Cristiano Ronaldo replied, “Probably. I will see. It will depend on the moment, the right opportunities.”
Ronaldo is set to play in Al-Nassr’s upcoming Saudi Pro League match against Al-Taawoun on Friday, January 17. The victory over Al-Akhdoud lifted Al-Nassr to third place in the league standings, with 28 points from 14 matches. They are currently eight points behind league leaders Al-Ittihad, having played one more game than them.
