Dabang Delhi vs Gujarat Giants: In another commanding performance in PKL Season 12, Dabang Delhi KC extended their unbeaten streak with a comfortable 38-28 victory over Gujarat Giants at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag on Thursday. The Dabang Delhi Gujarat Giants match witnessed captain Ashu Malik produce his fifth straight Super 10, and veteran Fazel Atrachali hold the defence together with a dominating High Five.
First Half: Ashu Malik and Fazel Atrachali Take Command
The first ten minutes were tightly fought, with Delhi in a narrow 8-6 lead. Ajinkya Pawar and Ashu Malik gained crucial raid points, while Fazel Atrachali and Sandeep Dhull restricted the Giants’ raiders.
Aryavardhan Navale and Rakesh for the Gujarat Giants attempted to contribute with some raids, but the failure to take advantage of Do-Or-Die moments kept them at the back.
The momentum turned in mid-half when Sandeep Deswal brought down Rakesh, and Ashu capitalized on it with consecutive raid points, sending out Shubham Kumar and Sumit. With Parteek Dahiya alone on the mat, Fazel Atrachali took over to deliver the first ALL OUT and stretched the score to 17-10.
Ashu’s Super 10 Powers Delhi to First-Half Lead
Ashu Malik, who was quiet in the beginning, burst into life as he scored two multi-point raids, achieving his Super 10 before the break. Assisted by good support from Ajinkya, Dabang Delhi entered the interval at 21-14, well in control of the game.
Second Half: Delhi ALL OUT Again to Take Lead Further
Though Rakesh attempted to mount a mini comeback for the Giants with a touch point and a Super Tackle on Ashu (who walked into the lobby), it only put off what was inevitable.
Pressure by Delhi soon led to another ALL OUT, as Ashu sent out Shadloui and Fazel outkilled Aryavardhan. The score increased to 31-21 at the end of the third quarter.
Gujarat Giants’ Late Push Falls Short
In the final seconds of this Dabang Delhi vs Gujarat Giants encounter, Parteek Dahiya gave fleeting hope with a raid success and a multi-point raid that left Surjeet Singh and Sandeep on the mat. But the Dabang Delhi men came back immediately every time, never allowing the margin to come within a decent amount.
Fazel Atrachali ended the night on a high note with a High Five after over-shadowing Parteek, while Shadloui opened his account only at the very end with tackles on Ajinkya and Mohit but it was too late.
Full-Time Score: Dabang Delhi 38 – 28 Gujarat Giants
Ashu Malik: 14 raid points (Super 10)
Fazel Atrachali: 5 tackle points (High Five)
Ajinkya Pawar: Steady Do-Or-Die raiding
