Dani Olmo(according to Mundo Deportivo) has agreed on a five-year deal with FC Barcelona.
Barcelona showed interest in the player during the negotiations with the German club for Ilaix Moriba.
Leipzig had informed Olmo of Barcelona’s interest in him. The player was permitted to discuss personal terms with Barcelona. Meanwhile, the negotiations for transfer fees took place between the two clubs. The player agreed to the conditions Barcelona proposed without giving any thought to it. Olmo was offered a significantly lower salary than what he earns currently. Despite that, he wanted to join the Spanish club.
The player was excited about Barcelona’s interest.
All three parties involved are looking to structure a new deal for the player with the transfer window over.
The player also had interest from other top La Liga clubs. Barcelona is impressed by the commitment Olmo has shown towards the club during the negotiation.
A versatile player, Olmo can play both as an attacking midfielder or as a winger. Dani Olmo started playing at La Masia when he was 9. However, he left the club at the age of 16. The talented Spaniard joined Dynamo Zagreb. There, he made a name for himself and earned a move to Leipzig in the summer of 2020.
Olmo is an established Spanish international. The midfielder represented Spain in EURO 2020 where they went as far as the semi-finals of the competition.
He has appeared sixteen times for Spain and has scored 3 goals. Meanwhile, the attacking midfielder has appeared 61 times for RB Leipzig and has scored 12 goals.
Barcelona wants to sign the midfielder in the January transfer window.
