Defeat Razikale: A Guide To The Archdemon Boss Fight

The Archdemon Razikale is one of the most challenging enemies in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, testing players with intense combat phases and powerful attacks. Winning this fight requires careful strategy, as Razikale’s attack patterns evolve over multiple stages, with each phase demanding unique tactics.

Battle Location: Siege of Wiesshaupt

The showdown with Razi unfolds during the Siege of Wiesshaupt. The battle is triggered after Razi attacks the First Warden, launching a series of attacks while Ghilan’nain chants nearby. The fight progresses in three phases, each more intense than the last.

Phase 1: Dodging Dangerous Attacks

In the first phase, players must avoid Razi’s green vomit attack and red dive circles, which can deal high damage. When Razikale’s head slams down, quickly move out of the area to avoid getting hit. Target the “Blight Boils” that appear on Razikale’s head; hitting these causes significant damage. Fire spells and shield attacks work well here, so keep the pressure up until Razikale’s health bar is nearly empty.

Phase 2: Double the Trouble

In the second phase, Razi returns with two heads and a full health bar, which means double the attacks to dodge. Use precise movements to avoid getting hit and keep aiming at the Blight Boils whenever possible. Ghilan’nain’s chants power up Razikale, so be prepared to dodge its quick attacks and launch combos whenever possible.

Razikale may briefly retreat to summon Hurlocks, so use area attacks like the Driving Kick to quickly deal with these smaller enemies.

Phase 3: The Final Showdown

In this final stage, Razi now has three heads and uses stronger attacks. Dodging becomes even more essential here. Continue focusing on Blight Boils and avoid the heads’ multi-directional attacks. Razikale will periodically disappear, allowing Hurlocks and Ghouls to enter the battle. Keep your health up and eliminate the smaller enemies to reduce incoming damage.

Rewards

Once Razikale is defeated, you’ll receive 4,500 XP, 700 Gold, two Dragonfire catalysts, a strength boost, and a new weapon. These rewards only come after a final cutscene plays.

With precise dodging, strategic attacks, and well-timed spells, players can finally bring down the powerful Archdemon Razi, marking the end of the Siege of Wiesshaupt.
