Delhi Police launches raids to arrest Olympian Sushil Kumar in an alleged murder case
The wrestler and his aides are being investigated for a murder outside Delhi’s Chatarsal Stadium on Tuesday night.
Delhi Police have dispatched teams to find the top wrestler and double Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar for his supposed involvement in the homicide of a 23-year-old junior national wrestler.
The wrestler was pounded to the ground in a conflict on the Chhatrasal arena premises in North-West Delhi late Tuesday night.
“We’re currently investigating the role of Sushil Kumar in the case as certain allegations have been raised against him.”
“When we reached his house for questioning he was absconding.”, said DCP Guriqbal Singh Sidhu.
“Sagar Kumar, child of a Delhi Police Head Constable was killed, and his aides Sonu Mahal and Amit Kumar were injured.”
“We have enlisted an FIR and captured one Prince Dalal, and held onto a double-barrel firearm from the spot,” Sidhu said.
Sushil Kumar has refuted the claims that those involved in the shooting were his wrestlers but has been missing ever since he made that claim.
