Diksha Dagar’s Stellar 68 Seals Top-20 Finish in Magical Kenya Open

Diksha Dagar delivered an impressive 5-under 68 on the final day, securing a Top-20 finish in the Magical Kenya Ladies Open. The Indian golfer, holding the third spot on the Ladies European Tour’s Order of Merit in 2023, posted rounds of 71-76-77-68, totaling even par 292 to claim the Tied-19th position.

This marked the inaugural event of the 2024 season on the Ladies European Tour (LET).

Pranavi Urs, initially Tied-eighth after three rounds, faced a challenging final round, shooting 3-over 76, concluding at T-23rd. Meanwhile, Vani Kapoor carded a 73, finishing at T-36.

The tournament witnessed a surprising victory by Singapore’s 19-year-old Shannon Tan, making her Ladies European Tour (LET) debut. Tan triumphed over a formidable field with rounds of 73-70-67-70, securing a 12-under total. She defeated Alessandra Fanali (8-under) by four shots. Tan, leading after the third round at 9-under, continued her solid performance with a 3-under 70, while Fanali carded a 74.

Diksha’s final day showcased her prowess, especially on the back nine, where she recorded five birdies. Pranavi’s day included an eagle, two birdies, five bogeys, and a double bogey, resulting in her Tied-23rd position. Vani Kapoor managed two birdies and two bogeys in her round.

Shannon Tan’s journey to professional success started in 2023 when she, as an amateur, received a special invite for the Singapore Ladies, eventually winning the event. This victory fueled her Olympic aspirations. Having left college at Texas Tech University to pursue a professional career, Tan earned a LET card for 2024 through a top-20 finish at the Lalla Aicha Q-School last December. The Magical Kenya Ladies Open marked only her third professional event, securing her a Tour card until the end of 2026.
