Stefanos Tsitsipas won his first-ever Dubai Tennis Championships title defeating Felix Auger Aliassime to break his final jinx. The Greek secured his maiden title in Dubai in his third attempt having finished as runner-up in the 2019 and 2020 edition.

Tsitsipas, who has one ATP finals title and three ATP-1000 wins, was yet to win an ATP-500 event. The fourth seed produced a high-quality performance to sink Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3, 6-3 and claim his 12th tour-level title.

“There is nothing that ensured the win today, it was just pure fighting,” said Tsitsipas. “It’s a big relief that I’m able to hold that trophy after the third attempt. It’s something that I had in the back of my mind, and I’m happy to say I accomplished it. I had a great opponent on the other side of the net, I knew it was a difficult task. I’m just proud of the way I managed the pressure and was able to perform in those crucial moments.”

The Greek began his 2025 in a disastrous fashion with first-round exits at the Australian Open 2025 and Qatar Open 2025. However, a title win in Dubai can boost the confidence of the 26-year-old in upcoming tournaments.

Aliassime, on the other hand, showed remarkable consistency and currently tops the list for most matches won in 2024.
