Eoin Morgan predicted that England would have an advantage over the inexperienced Indian team in the upcoming five-Test series.

He pointed out that playing at home would work in England’s favor and said it would be a challenging tour for India. Morgan also mentioned that although England usually aren’t considered favorites, their strong home form this time gives them a better chance.

I would say England are favourite, I haven’t looked at any of the mark, just with the home form with journey, I would say the things are in their favour at that moment. So it’s a nice place to be. I have played some really bad teams, but we were never the favourite (laughs). It’s gonna be a tough tour for India,” Morgan said on Sky Sports.

Shubman Gill has been chosen as the new captain of the Indian Test team for the England tour. Morgan played with Gill for two seasons in the IPL for KKR.

During their time together, Eoin Morgan saw Gill as a natural leader and noticed his potential. Gill also played under Morgan when KKR reached the final of the IPL in 2021.
