Erling Haaland
Erling Haaland is one of the best young players in the world at the moment. His next destination is of interest to everybody in the footballing world.
The Norwegian forward is expected to move away from Borussia Dortmund next summer. He has a release clause in his contract which becomes active the next summer and according to the clause Haaland can be bought for around 80 million euros. However, the speculated amount is relatively very low when compared to the monstrous output the 20-year-old produces.
Hans-Joachim Watzke, CEO of Borussia Dortmund admitted it will be difficult to keep Erling Haaland next summer. He said
“Of course it’ll be difficult, but we’ll do everything we can to keep our best players”
Former Real Madrid player Steve McManaman has had his say on Haaland’s future as well. He’s hopeful that Los Blancos will be his next move.
Steve McManaman on Haaland
Steve McManaman, a former Real Madrid player claims Haaland will prefer to move to Real next summer.
McManaman said in a column for horseracing.net,
“Do I think Liverpool will be in the fight to sign him next summer? No, I think he’ll go to Real Madrid and the player personally likes the idea of the club, the lifestyle, and all that comes with playing for them.
I don’t think the fee will be why Liverpool won’t sign him. It’s all the other variables of signing a player of his caliber. He’d be on a huge salary and all of the other players would want the same.
Mino Raiola would also want a lot of money himself, and I don’t think Liverpool want to get involved in that.”
Meanwhile, plenty of big-name clubs are monitoring Haaland’s situation. Therefore, there shall be no doubt that his move will be the most talked about and speculated in the transfer window next summer.
