An Esports Award is the highest possible recognition for an esports organization. The awards are meant to be a global recognition of the success and accomplishments in esports. As part of their mission, they seek to document the associations’ dedication and successes and learn about and highlight the underlying cycles. Some of the most memorable moments in esports history occurred in 2022, altering our perspective on this ceremony and its consequences. The level of competition was higher than we had hoped for, and the many tight races in all of the game’s categories are a testament to that. This has made it very difficult to pick winners in each area.

Awards were presented in Las Vegas at a massive ceremony attended by prominent figures from all areas of esports. The evening concluded with the deserving winners of each category receiving the acclaim they deserved.

Here is the nominee’s Esports Controller Rookie of the Year winner list:

Winner: Enzo ‘Seikoo’ Grondein

  • Amer ‘Pred’ Zulbeari
  • Matías ‘Scorpionprocs’ Martínez
  • Enzo ‘Seikoo’ Grondein
  • Adam ‘Bound’ Gray
  • Axel’ vatira’ Touret
  • Emre ‘EmreYilmaz’ Yilmaz
  • UMISHO

Winner: Enzo ‘Seikoo’ Grondein

One of the categories with the highest level of competition is the Rookie Controller of the Year category. The team featured many up-and-coming players, such as Call of Duty’s Zmer “Pred” Zulbeari and Rocket League’s Axel “vaitira” Touret, among others. There could only be one winner of the prize. And the winner of the problematic category is Seikoo, a French Rocket League player who plays for Team BDS. Seikoo took home the prize.

To say that Seikoo’s year has been anything but ordinary would be an understatement. He has established himself as a formidable opponent under his three victories at the highest level of competition, the RLCS 2021-2022 World Championships. In addition to being nominated for, and ultimately winning, the “Controller Rookie” award, he is also a candidate for “Controller Player of the Year.” It is, therefore, unnecessary to argue that he does not deserve the honour.
