Chris Gayle

In the 15th World Cup match, West Indies star batsman Chris Gayle produced an incredible power-hitting performance, smashing a record-breaking 215 runs off 147 balls, including 16 sixes and 10 fours, with a strike rate of 146.26. This performance helped West Indies set up their record total of 372 against Zimbabwe.

West Indies vs. AB de Villiers (2015)

South Africa scored 408 runs thanks to AB de Villiers, who scored the quickest 150 in ODI cricket. The South African cricket team was undoubtedly looking to turn things around as they prepared to square up with the optimistic West Indies squad on Friday after their 130-run defeat to India. Although the Proteas were predicted to start off strongly, the first innings were undoubtedly the most interesting of the World Cup’s opening matches.

Nathan Astle

Nathan Astle, a free-spirited player in cricket, developed into a dynamic all-rounder at the Test and one-day levels without losing his easy-going confidence. Although he started out at Canterbury as the most frugal of the medium-paced bowlers and a no-account batter, his batting quickly improved. Astle began his career as a prolific one-day player before being transformed by national coach Glenn Turner into a top-tier Test top-order batsman who posted back-to-back hundreds in the West Indies in 1995 and 1996. With his 222 against England in Christchurch in 2001–02—the fastest double century in Test history—he tore the record books to shreds. He was side-lined by a knee injury around the close of 2003, although he was chosen for the 2004 England trip. the castle

Chris Gayle

Gayle, a potent Jamaican left-hander, received a black mark in 2000 when on his maiden senior tour to England because the younger players were thought to show little regard for their elders. But even then, Gayle has benefited from having little respect for the bowlers of the opposition. The statistics of even the thriftiest opening bowlers can be completely destroyed by this big, intimidating player who loves to slice over the covers off either foot.

Eoin Morgan v Afghanistan (2019)

The record for the most sixes in an ODI inning was broken by England captain Eoin Morgan against Afghanistan in their World Cup encounter on Tuesday. Morgan hit as many as 17 sixes. In his 148 off 71 balls, Morgan was in imperious form, smashing 17 sixes and four boundaries.

Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar was arguably the greatest cricket legend ever and the game’s most productive run-maker. The most complete batter of his era, he was also. His approach to hitting was based on the most basic principles, including perfect balance, movement economy, stroke production accuracy, and anticipation—an intangible quality that only great batters hold. Although the upright, back-foot punch is close, he lacked a signature move since he was proficient in so many and could utilise them whenever he wanted. Tendulkar didn’t appear to have any vulnerabilities in his play in every situation, he could make runs in any part of the world. He had the ability to score from both of his feet and all over the field.

Martin Guptill v West Indies (2015)

A record-breaking double-century by Martin Guptill helped New Zealand defeat West Indies by 143 runs in the fourth World Cup quarterfinal match and go to the semi-finals. Following Chris Gayle, Maritn Guptill became the second World Cup batsman to record a double century. Following Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, who has made two such scores, and Chris Gayle as the only other players to have achieved a double-hundred in ODI history, Martin Guptill is now the sixth player overall.

Martin Guptill v West Indies (2015

When Martin Guptill became the first New Zealand player to score a double century in ODIs, he made history. Only Rohit Sharma’s 264 was better than his eventual 237* in an ODI inning. After Chris Gayle struck 215 against Zimbabwe earlier in the competition, Guptill became just the second player to hit a World Cup double tonne when he accomplished the feat against West Indies in the fourth World Cup 2015 quarterfinal on Saturday. In this format, the right-hander became the fifth player to score 200 points (It was the sixth occasion Rohit Sharma had achieved the feat twice).

Marlon Samuels & Chris Gayle

(2nd wicket) v Zimbabwe (2015)

The West Indies defeated Zimbabwe by 73 runs using the Duckworth-Lewis formula in Canberra, as Chris Gayle hit the first double-century in Cricket World Cup history. The biggest partnership in one-day international history was broken by Gayle and Marlon Samuels, who combined for 372 runs off 147 balls and 215 runs from Gayle. West Indies scored 372-2 runs in their 50 overs at the Manuka Oval after winning the toss and choosing to bat. After a brief downpour, the goal was changed to 363 in 48 overs, and the Zimmies’ reply saw them get out for 289 in 44.3 overs.
