European Athletics Team Championships Madrid: Top Athletes In Contention; Events And Schedule

The track and field action moves to Madrid for the 2025 European Athletics Team Championships 1st Division.

The event will take place from 26 to 29 June at the Vallehermoso Stadium in the Spanish capital.

Featuring at the event will be several Olympic gold medallists from Paris 2024 including Femke Bol, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Yemisi Ogunleye, and Miltiadis Tentoglou.

Italy head to the 2025 European Athletics Team Championships 1st Division as the defending champions. Mattia Furlani,Nadia Battocletti and Gianmarco Tamberi, Gianmarco Tamberi and Samuele Ceccarelli among others make up for a strong squad.

Dutch Olympic champion Femke Bol will compete in the 400m against Poland’s Olympic bronze medallist Natalia Bukowiecka.

Bol will be joined by Lieke Klaver, her teammate in the gold medal mixed 4x400m relay team in Paris. 

Olympic shot put champion YemisiOgunleye and long jumper Malaika Mihambo are among the key athletes to watch for the Germans at the European Athletics Team Championships in Madrid.

Ukrainian high jump world record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh will be another top athlete to look for. . 

Sweden will have current world discuss champion Daniel Stahl, and Andreas Almgren, who set the European 5000m record at the Diamond League in Stockholm.
