The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2025 has entered the semi-final stage after over a week of exciting encounters in Seychelles.
The first semi-final is set to witness a clash in which defending champions Brazil will take on Portugal.
Brazil vs Spain
In the quarterfinal match of Beach Soccer World Cup 2025, Brazil delivered another complete performance with a dominant 6-0 triumph over Spain. Talismanic attacker Rodrigo scored two goals displaying a sensational performance.
Rodrigo was quickly out of the gates with a pair of goals, followed later by Benjamin Jr. to hand the South Americans a healthy three-goal cushion going into the final period.
Spain were never able to recover from the low, who saw out their clean sheet victory with brilliant strikes from Catarino, Teleco and Filipe.
Portugal vs Japan
Earlier, Portugal prevailed over Japan in a nail-biting thriller that saw 13 goals scored in the quarter final of Beach Soccer World Cup 2025. The Portuguese defeated the Japanese side 7-6.
A Jordan penalty broke the deadlock, but Masato Suzuki had Japan on level terms following a canny Ozu Moreira pass. Pintado restored Portugal’s lead with his sixth goal of the tournament. Later, Takaaki Oba equalised with a glorious volley.
Ruben Brilhante struck in the second period. Be Martins made it 4-2, before Kosuke Matsuda and goalkeeper Yusuke Kawai rallied the Samurai Blue back to 4-4. A Jordan free-kick put Portugal in front again, but Ozu Moreira scored straight from the restart. Jordan and Ozu then netted their third and second goals of the match to make it 6-6. Pintado’s second in the last minute finally settled it.
