FIFA reveals the nominations for The “BEST” Awards 2021

FIFA recently announced the nominations for the 2021 Best Award which will be held on 17th January 2022 at their Zurich Headquarters.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been shortlisted for The Best FIFA Men 2021 award.

Seven WSL players are nominated for The Best FIFA Award for Women, in which Lucy Bronze, Ellen White, Sam Kerr and Vivianne Miedema argue. I bronze won the award, she would be the first player to take the trophy in consecutive years.

The lists of FIFA’s top male and female coaches were also unveiled with Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola, Thomas Tuchel, Emma Hayes and Sarina Wiegman among the nominees.

Alisson Becker of Liverpool, Edouard Mendy and AnnKatrin Berger of Chelsea and Kasper Schmeichel of Leicester has been shortlisted for the Goalkeeper Awards.

The men’s awards are judged on the results obtained between October 8, 2020, and August 7, 2021, while the women’s awards run from the same start date until August 6, 2021.

The panels and the public vote will decide the three finalists in each of the categories. The nominees for the Puskas Prize have yet to be announced.
The ceremony will take place in Zurich on January 17, 2022, and will take place due to the COVID19 pandemic.
