All the Arab countries who have participated in the FIFA World Cup have made Tunisia the exception when it comes to selecting between domestic and international managers. The centre-half was at the centre of one of the biggest French transfer sagas of the summer as Salernitana, his final destination, and local rivals Lorient and Nantes vied for his attention as Metz tried in vain to cling on to him. In Qatar 2022, Bronn aspires to garner attention as the defensive captain of the Carthage Eagles team, which is eager to please its supporters.

Since Henryk Kasperczak gave Bronn his first cap in 2017, he has been a crucial member of the Tunisia starting lineup. He is a challenging defender to get past because of his comfort with the ball; in Ligue 1 last season, this occurred to him just 0.4 times per game. Though Covid-19 and injury have limited his appearances in recent months, he can be counted on to play a significant role at Qatar 2022.

Ingles Skhiri

The Midfielder Position

Age: 27

The Cologne midfielder, who is now playing in his fourth season in Germany, is a key member of Tunisia’s midfield and will be crucial in reducing the danger posed by players like Christian Eriksen, Paul Pogba, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Emil Hojbjerg in Qatar 2022. He has excelled in this capacity for his team over the last two seasons.

Skhiri excels in intercepting passes from the opposition (he averages 3.7 per game), winning possession of the ball, blocking shots, playing passes in the opponent’s half, and creating opportunities (as many as 1.3 per match in the Bundesliga this season). It becomes even more evident how crucial he is to Tunisia’s prospects in the global championships when you consider his range shooting skills.

Aissa Laidouni

Midfielder Position

Age: 25

Laidouni, who was formerly with Angers and had one Ligue 1 appearance at the age of 19, transferred to Ferencvaros in 2020. He was called up to the national squad in March of last year during the qualifications for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations because to his excellent play with the Hungarian giants. Since then, first under Munther al Kabeer and again under Jalel Kadri, he has developed into an essential part of the Tunisian machinery.

Laidouni is now enjoying success with his team in the UEFA Europa League, as the Hungarians are leading their division, ahead of Monaco and Trabzonspor, despite his inability to make an impact in the French topflight. His shooting, passing, and pass-interception skills have greatly contributed to their success.

Therese Msakni

Place: Forward

Age: 31

Msakni, who was initially noticed by former Carthage Eagles coach Faouzi Benzarti with his dribbling and shooting 12 years ago when he was just 19 years old, is now back at Qatari side Al Duhail after a very short stint in Europe. He remains an essential member of the Tunisia setup. Msakni has been in and out of the national team lineup due to a variety of factors, the most significant of which was a run of injuries. He scored a quickfire brace against Equatorial Guinea in a June qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations after coming in as a replacement for Hannibal Mejbri. Msakni is a very adaptable player who can play as an offensive midfielder, left flank, centre striker, and left defender.

Khazri Wahbi

Place: Forward

Age: 31

Khazri’s career last year was not the greatest since St. Etienne was relegated to the French second tier. The forward player was then transferred to Montpellier, which gave supporters optimism that he would be in excellent shape for Qatar. Khazri is the kind of forward every coach wants to have with his long-range shooting abilities, set-piece talents, and talent at holding the ball up and dribbling past opponents. He also contributes fairly to the defensive effort, which is a crucial component of the modern forward’s game.

In Qatar 2022, Bronn aspires to garner attention as the defensive captain of the Carthage Eagles team, which is eager to please its supporters. They began the year with making it to the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations, which was roughly where they had been since winning the championship in 2004 but was a step back from making it to the semi-finals in the previous year.
